COVID-19 Patient Protection

For the protection of your patients at the kiosk, Clearwave recommends purchasing finger cots for use at the kiosk.

Kiosk Care Kits

One Kiosk Care Kit is included with each new and refurbished kiosk customers receive. Each Kiosk Care Kit contains:

Touchscreen Cleaning

DO NOT use:
  • Products not intended for electronics
  • Products containing ammonia such as Window Cleaner
  • Products containing bleach such as Disinfectant Wipes
  • Abrasive products
Products containing alcohol are safe to use for cleaning and disinfecting XT touchscreens. DO NOT use any products containing alcohol on KS touchscreens, as it will deteriorate the privacy filter. There currently are no antibacterial products available that are safe to use on the KS touchscreens. (KS terminals have the thick black frame around the screen. XT terminals have the thin silver/black frame around the screen on GEN3 and newer kiosks).

Recommended Anti-Bacterial Wipes for XT touchscreens ONLY

Awesome Wipes (contain alcohol) - or

Recommended Cleaning Wipes for all touchscreens (not anti-bacterial)

Scanner Cleaning

The best way to clean the scanner is with a microfiber cloth with glass cleaner sprayed on it.

DO NOT spray the glass cleaner directly onto the scanner as it could drip down into the scanner.

Acrylic Cleaning and Maintenance

DUSTING - Dust acrylic with a soft cloth or chamois, wiping gently. (NO paper towels)

WASHING – Wash acrylic with mild soap or detergent and lukewarm water solution. Use a clean soft cloth or natural sponge and as much solution as possible. Rinse well. Dry by blotting with a damp cloth or chamois. Grease and oil are best with hexans, kerosene or aliphatic naptha. AROMATIC COMPOUNDS MUST NOT BE USED.

ANTI-STATIC COATING – These coatings on acrylic successfully prevent the accumulation of electrostatic charge. Between applications of the anti–static coatings, acrylic need only be dusted with a soft damp cloth or chamois. Mild detergents (for example 1% Joy in water) provide good anti–static properties while serving as excellent cleaners for acrylic.

SCRATCH REMOVAL – Most minor scratches can be removed by hand polishing. The polish should be applied with damp pads of soft cotton flannel and rubbed parallel to the scratch in a straight back and forth motion. Excessive rubbing at one point should be avoided. Electric buffers should not be used; they will form depressions in the surface of the acrylic causing optical distortions.

POLISHING – After cleaning and polishing, the acrylic may be waxed with a good grade of commercial wax. Waxing will improve the appearance of the acrylic by filling in minor scratches. The wax should be applied in a thin even coat and brought to high gloss by rubbing lightly with a soft dry cloth.

DO NOT USE – Window cleaning fluids, scouring compounds, gritty cloth, leaded or ethyl gasolines or strong solvents such as alcohol, acetone, carbon tetrachloride, lacquer thinners, Windex and etc. (NO PAPER TOWELS)
